Movie Star Mark Walhberg Donates $10,000 to Malden Teen Center
The Dorchester native saw reports about the city's hockey tournament fundraiser and donated the cash, organizers said.

The city got a serious Christmas gift this year, with some star power to boot: $10,000 for the city's Teen Enrichment Center from actor and Dorchester native Mark Wahlberg.Â
Malden resident Scott Saia, who organized last weekend's first annual "Home for the Holidays" tournament, works for the Wahlberg family and said he told them about his efforts to raise money for the city's new teen center.
"A lot of my own drive to create the tournament and make it the success it became was inspired and influenced by seeing the Wahlbergs' passion for helping kids and the community, and being involved in their work myself and seeing their affective results firsthand," Saia wrote.Â
