Isabelle Aengenheyster, a recent graduate of Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, is bound for Fordham this fall.
MALDEN, MA — Recent Mystic Valley Regional Charter School graduate Isabelle Aengenheyster was awarded the National Merit Scholarship, becoming the third student in school history to earn one of the country's most prestigious and recognizable scholarships.
Sophie Carroll, a 2013 graduate, and Justin Nguyen, who graduated in 2014, previously received the scholarship. In total, some 37 MVRCS students since 2009 have attained commended status or above from the scholarship committee.
Aengenheyster was one of 1.5 million high school seniors to be considered for the accolade, placing her within the top tenth of 1 percent of students across America. She will attend Fordham University in the fall.
