NBA Player From Everett Takes Frightening Fall, Stretchered Off

Nerlens Noel appeared to take an elbow to the head before it slammed against the floor.

An NBA player from the Boston area was stretchered off the floor following a frightening fall Tuesday night. Oklahoma City Thunder big man Nerlens Noel appeared to take an elbow to the head from Minnesota's Andrew Wiggins. Noel, who was airborne, fell limp to the ground, his head bouncing off the hardwood floor.

The Thunder's medical staff immediately responded and stretchered Noel off the floor.

There was no update on Noel's condition as of 10 p.m.

Noel, who is billed as being from Malden but grew up in Everett, played two years at Everett High before transferring to Tilton Academy in New Hampshire. The 24-year-old played at Kentucky University before being drafted No. 6 by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013.
