Obituary: Donald T. Moss, Sr., Met the Love of His Life While Working at a Candy Factory
An avid Boston sports fan, Don was also a former member of the V.F.W. Post #69 in Malden.

Donald Thomas Moss, Sr. a resident of Danvers and formerly a long-time resident of Malden, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, he was 70.
Born on January 14, 1945 in Jenkins Township, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Eleanor (Farrell) Moss. Don was raised and educated in Pennsylvania. He enlisted into the US Navy on September 6, 1966 and was honorably discharged on September 19, 1968 after serving overseas and being awarded the National Defense Medal.

After the service, he went to work for a candy factory in Pennsylvania and it was here he met the love of his life, Sandra L. Pope. The couple was soon married on May 19, 1972. They eventually moved to Malden in 1978 where Don went to work as the maintenance supervisor for the city’s McFadden Manor. An avid Boston sports fan, Don was also a former member of the V.F.W. Post #69 in Malden.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his children, Cherie Boncore and her husband Sal of Tewksbury, Wendy Cardosi and her husband Richard of Malden and Daniel Moss of Danvers, his grandchildren, Michelle, Mark, and Kristen Boncore, Isabella Cardosi, and Joseph Moss, and his sisters, Elinore Yentz of PA and Catherine Alba of PA.

Don was preceded in death his son, Donald T. Moss, Jr. and his siblings, Molly Feiler and John Moss.
Services were held. Contributions in Donald’s memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St. Danvers, MA 01923.
