Obituary: George C. Habeeb; Longtime Crossing Guard in Malden
He was a milkman for the HP Hood company, and began delivering milk in a horse drawn cart in the Boston and Charlestown area.

George Charles Habeeb, 85, a longtime resident of Malden who had recently moved to Wilmington, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. George was born in Boston in 1930, the son of Attila and Genevieve (Haddad) Habeeb.
He was raised and educated in Everett. After completing his education, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he spent one year of active duty before being discharged into the reserves where he served for another 6 years. George became a milkman for the HP Hood company, and began delivering milk in a horse drawn cart in the Boston and Charlestown area. He spent over 25 year with HP Hood before retiring. He then went to work for the City of Malden as a Crossing guard at the Cheverus School. He truly loved this job, and loved being with children. He ended up working for 20 years as a crossing guard. In years past George was an avid bowler, and also enjoyed going to the track.

He is survived by his children, Gregory A. Habeeb of Malden, Madeline A. Provitola of Wilmington, Nancy J. Breslin of Wilmington, Barbara J. Worcester of Haverhill, and Robert M. Habeeb of Peabody, as well as 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his wife Sally, his parents, Attila and Genevieve (Haddad) Habeeb; his son, George C. Jr Habeeb Jr of Malden, his brothers Albert Habeeb and Micheal Habeeb, and sisters Joan Russo and Marion Myers, and his grandson Nicholas Provitola.
