Obituary: Helen E. (McNamee) Small, Raised Her Family in Malden
Later in life, she took employment as a clerk in the City Clerks Office.

Helen E. (McNamee) Small, as longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Sunday, Sept 27th, in Beverly. Helen was born and rasied in Scotland, the daughter of James and Isabel McNamee. While in Scotland she met Hugh W. Small, and the two were married in 1949. Five years later they moved to the US and settled down in Malden to raise their family. For many years she was primarily a homemaker, but later in life she took employment as a clerk in the City Clerks Office. She was a quiet homebody type, and enjoyed knitting, crosswords, and puzzles, but her most treasured time was spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Hugh W. Small, her children, Hugh K. Small and longtime girlfriend Pamela O’Leary of Revere, James Small and wife Isabel of Waltham, Alan G. Small and wife Lee Ann of Malden, Ronald J. Small and longtime girlfriend Jeanine Ward of Melrose, and Anne-Marie Savage and husband Rick of Malden, as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, John NcNamee and sister, Isobel Messer.
Funeral from the Weir – MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Thurs, Oct 1, at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Interment private. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed, Sept 30, from 4 – 8 PM
