Obituary: Joseph T. Casey, Taught English For 30 Years

Joseph T. Casey, 89, of Malden, August 24.

Beloved husband of the late Katherine A. (Cronin) Casey. Father of Joseph T. Casey Jr. and his wife Debra of Malden, John L. Casey and his wife Lynne of Stratford, CT, Thomas R. Casey and his wife Karen of Lynnfield and Dr. Timothy Casey of Malden. Grandfather of John Jr., Daniel, Samantha, Niall, Michael and Alana. Brother of Claire Birmingham of NJ, Thomas Casey of Billerica, Ann Dolan of Malden and the late Mary and Helen Casey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Joseph has been a lifelong resident of Malden. He is a graduate of Boy’s Catholic High School ( Malden Catholic), Boston University and Boston Teacher’s College. For over 30 years, he taught English at Dorchester High School. He was an active volunteer at Bread of Life in Malden, a Friend of the Fells and a friend and benefactor to the Malden Public Library. He has been an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Parish for many years.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Saturday Aug. 29th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday Aug. 28th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Bread of Life, 54 Eastern Ave., Malden, MA 02148.
