Police Respond to Attempted Bank Robbery Downtown

Police are responding to a reported attempted bank robbery at the Centre Street Bank of America just a little before 7 p.m. Thursday night. 

While no further information beyond this confirmation was available, scanner reports indicate a witness told police the man threatened to use a gun but did not produce it. 

Police were reportedly looking for a white male in his late 20s, wearing a grey hoodie, black baseball cap, grey sweatpants and a scarf. 

Witnesses on the MBTA reported that the Malden Center trains were briefly stopped as police looked for suspects there, but have resumed service.
