Residents Can Now File Police Reports Online
A new web-based service offered by the Malden Police aims to make life easier for victims of crime and reduce calls for service to keep officers on the street.

A new web-based reporting system unveiled by Malden Police this week will allow residents to file certain police reports over the internet, 24 hours a day.
The public can now file reports for minor, non-violent crimes via the Coplogic system at their convenience, without having to wait for an officer to respond in person.
The document is then transferred to the department's records management system and receives the same attention and analysis as any traditionally filed police report. Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said.
“This web-based reporting system allows our officers more time to address community needs on the street while meeting the public expectation to access services via the internet,” Mayor Gary Christenson said in a statement.
Reportable crimes include:
- Harassing phone calls
- Identity theft
- Lost or stolen cell phone/electronic device
- Lost or stolen credit/debit card
- Lost property
- Stolen bicycle
- Stolen property
- Theft from a car
- Vandalism to a car
- Vandalism to property
