Resources for Teen Mental Health

Are you looking for resources to help you navigate teen mental health? You can learn more about being a caring adult here.

Families for Depression Awareness helps families recognize and cope with depression and bipolar disorder to get people well and prevent suicides. We offer education, training, and support to unite families and help them heal while coping with mood disorders. Our offerings include our:

  • Teen Speaker Program: teens share their stories about living with depression or bipolar disorder with other teens; and
  • Teen Depression Workshops: presented by a mental health clinician to adult audiences.

We believe that peer-to-peer programming helps to eliminate mental health stigma, encourage help-seeking, and ensure that teens get the care they need and deserve.

During these trainings, we offer a wide variety of educational material and, while these offerings remain virtual during the pandemic, we would like to offer our resources to the Malden community.

In addition to these fact sheets, we have Teen Depression Resource Cards in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. These pocket-sized, bi-fold resource cards were created for teens by teens. These resource cards include information on self-care practices, signs and symptoms, and advise when and from where to get help.

You can visit our website to learn more about helping a teen. If you are interested in receiving our resource cards or bringing our virtual programming to you, please let us know by emailing teens@familyaware.org.
