3. The...Lizard of Oz?: The Malden Public Library will host an "interactive play" with dramatic duo "Max and Suzy," as they perform a mash-up of Wizard of Oz with new lizard themes at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

July 30, 1904: Several families escape certain death in a serious 2 a.m. fire at 72, 74 and 80 Summer St., after a passing patrolman William Barrett noticed smoke coming out of the building, pulled a firebox and ran into the building to wake up tenants.
July 30, 1909: Former Malden Mayor and State Sen. Charles L. Dean dies at Malden Hospital after an appendicitis operation.
