WATCH: Trailer For Mark Wahlberg Movie Shot In Malden

MALDEN, MA — Netflix this week released the first trailer for "Spenser Confidential," its Mark Wahlberg-helmed movie filmed partially in Malden. The detective film follows the eponymous Spenser, played by Wahlberg, a disgraced cop who teams up with his ex-girlfriend and an amateur boxer to solve the mystery surrounding the deaths of two of his former colleagues.

Winston Duke ("Black Panther," "Us") plays amateur fighter Hawk, and Iliza Shlesinger ("Instant Family," "Last Comic Standing") takes on the role of Spenser's ex, Cissy. Alan Arkin ("Argo," "Little Miss Sunshine"), Bokeem Woodbine ("Fargo" TV series), Marc Maron ("Glow") and Austin Post (rapper Post Malone) have supporting roles.

The movie is based on Robert B. Parker's series of Spenser novels and the 1980s ABC series "Spenser: For Hire." It was shot in Boston and nearby communities, including Malden, Revere, Raynham and Weston, in 2018.
