Almost A Casino, Now Affordable Housing? Milford Planning

In 2013, Foxwoods wanted to bring in a casino to this property. Now, a developer is proposing an affordable housing complex.

MILFORD, MA—Four years ago, Milford voters rejected the development of a Foxwoods-backed casino on property in their town.

The property, which encompasses 116 acres from 462 to 466 East Main St., now has a new developer's eyes on it.

According to a recent report from the Worcester Business Journal, a Waltham developer is looking to build a 300-unit affordable housing complex using the two buildings on the property.

The Zoning Board of Appeals recently posted a public hearing on the proposal from Eden Property Management to be held on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Upper Town Hall.

Of the 300 units, 75 of these will be classified as affordable housing, which allows the developer to basically ignore any zoning restrictions for that site.
