Black Lives Matter Rally Planned For Milton

Thursday night's event is being called: "Milton Stand Out Against Racism."

MILTON, MA — A stand of solidarity, wave of remembrance kneel and a contemplative silence are planned as part of a Black Lives Matter event in Milton scheduled for Thursday night.

The event — titled "Milton Stand Out Against Racism" — is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and extend along Blue Hill Parkway from Canton Avenue to Mattapan Square.

Courageous Conversation Toward Racial Justice and the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association are organizing the event that is scheduled to start with the stand of solidarity at 6, taking a knee as the person next to you takes a knee (creating a wave) at 6:15, a contemplative silence at 6:24 and dispersal at 6:30.

Participants are asked to stand socially distanced on sidewalks or on the median wearing a face covering, or stay in your car on either side of the parkway.

Signs and chalk art are encouraged.
