Bridge Repairs On Granite Avenue in Milton To Begin Sunday

The work will run through April 30 and take place during both daytime and nighttime hours.

MILTON, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that work on the Granite Avenue Bridge in Milton will begin Sunday, March 7 and run through Friday, April 30.

The work will take place during both daytime and nighttime hours and will include structural steel repairs, cleaning, and painting.

The Town of Milton has released the following traffic impacts from as a result of the repairs, effective 7 days a week from March 7 through April 17:

  • Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., traffic will be reduced to a single lane in the northbound and southbound directions on Granite Ave.
  • Between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 5 a.m., there will be alternating closures of the northbound and southbound travel lanes on Granite Ave. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in the northbound and southbound traffic on Granite Ave.

Because nighttime painting operations from March 21 through March 31 will generate noise, the contractor will implement noise mitigation measures during that time.
