Coronavirus: Face Masks 'Advised' Inside Milton Food Businesses

The Milton Health Department said the advisory for all employees and all those entering an establishment to pick up take-out.

MILTON, MA — Anyone working in, or picking up an order from, food establishments in Milton are now advised to wear a protective face covering. The Milton Health Department put forth the advisory for anyone entering a food establishment for picking food and all employees within the establishment at all times as part of the new coronavirus health emergency.

A proper face covering should be covering the face and mouth.

Milton officials said there have been 125 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in the town as of Wednesday. There were 4,212 cases in Norfolk County and 42,944 cases across the state as of Wednesday.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 1,745 new confirmed coronavirus cases as of Wednesday. The department also reported 221 new deaths, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Massachusetts to 2,182. The increase in the daily number of new cases comes after the five straight days of falling new case reports.

The 221 deaths was the highest single-day total since Massachusetts recorded its first coronavirus death on March 20. The 2,182 total deaths from coronavirus are six less than the 2,188 Massachusetts residents who died in the Vietnam and Korean Wars.
