Ex- Bike-Shop Manager Due In Court Next Month

A Milton man has pleaded not guilty to selling $1 million worth of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and pocketing the cash.

WOBURN, MA -- A Milton man, who worked as the former general manager of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop in Billerica, is scheduled for a hearing next month on charges he rode away with more than $1 million in motorcycle sales, then hid the theft by removing the bikes from the shop's computer inventory.

In Middlesex Superior Court on Tuesday, Michael D. Sienkiewicz, 46, of Milton, is scheduled a status date on June 16 on charges of: larceny over $250 (four counts); money laundering; and false entry into corporate books.

Sienkiewicz, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, is free on personal recognizance.

In court documents, prosecutors Douglas Cannon and Cyrus Y. Chung allege that in 2014, Sienkiewicz, then the general manager at High Octane Harley-Davidson in Billerica, concocted a scheme to require a cash payment from buyers.

Between 2012 and 2014, Sienkiewicz was involved in the sale of more than 100 motorcycles creating a $1 million loss for the company, prosecutors allege. He allegedly kept the cash and then falsely changed the status of the bike on the shop's computer inventory system, prosecutors said.

When confronted, Sienkiewicz allegedly signed a promissory note and a restitution agreement admitting to the scheme, prosecutors said.

In addition, Sienkiewicz allegedly disguised a $10,000 check drawn on the shop's account to make it look like the money was used for business purposes, when it was used as a down payment for Sienkiewicz's personal Mercedes-Benz.
