Man Who Drowned In Milton Pond Identified As 39-Year-Old Father

Investigators say the man went into the water to retrieve a soccer ball and never resurfaced.

MILTON, MA — The man who drowned in Houghton's Pond in Milton Thursday evening has been identified as a 39-year-old father from Quincy, reported NBC 10 News.

Investigators say the man was at the pond with his son and went into the water to retrieve a soccer ball around 6:30 p.m. Witnesses called 911 when he did not resurface after going underwater.

The man's body was recovered shortly before 8 p.m. by Boston Fire Department divers. His name is not being released at this time.
