Milton High Swimmers Finish Inaugural Season
Congratulations to the first Milton High School swim team!

A group of swimmers from Milton High School recently completed their first season as members of the school’s first foray into the sport of swimming.
The group practiced throughout the season and concluded the season by competing in a meet against Thayer Academy and St. George’s varsity swim teams.
Several Milton swimmers took top spots in the meet, including freshman, Emma Heller, who took 1st place in the 200 yard freestyle, and 1st place in 50 yard breaststroke; freshman Leah Corcoran took 4th place in 50 yard butterfly, and 4th place in the 100 yard medley; and freshman Tyler Volpe Knock took 5th place in 50 yard Backstroke. Junior Matt O’Sullivan took 5th place in 50 yard freestyle.

Strong performances were given by the relay teams of  Liv Jensen, Rachel Joyce, Matt O’Sullivan, and Elizabeth Murphy for their 200 yard medley relay. The 200 yard freestyle relay which included, Olivia Sidoti, Adam Potter, Rachel Joyce and Liv Jensen also did extremely well.Â
The roster is: Juniors: Matt O’Sullivan and Adam Potter. Sophomores: Liv Jensen, Olivia Sidoti, Gabrielle Che, Christian Jamal, Freshman: Rachel Joyce, Tyler Volpe Knock, Emily Dsida, Nolan Carvahlo, Elizabeth Murphy, Kristen Rundlett, and team captains: Leah Corcoran, and Emma Heller. Kristin Rundlett was injured so she could not participate in the meet but she cheered on her team. Missing from the meet was Nolan Carvahlo, Christian Jamal, Gabby Che, and Emily Dsida, who were traveling.

The high school swimmers are very grateful to the Weymouth Club, for the use of their facility and coach Jack Focarelli. The group is hoping to develop into a varsity team over the next year or two.
