Milton Revises Face Mask Policy For Return To School
Surgical masks are preferred, one-layer masks and neck gaiters are not sufficient.
MILTON, MA — One-layer cloth face mask, one-layer neck gaiters and vented masks are not permitted for Milton Public Schools students and educators as part of the revised mask policy for when the town returns to school on Sept. 16 under a hybrid-learning with remote choice plan.
Masks must be worn in all school buildings, school grounds and on school transportation even when social distancing is observed.
Surgical masks and two- to three-layer cloth masks are preferred. Face shields are permitted, but must be worn along with a face mask.

Families can supply masks, though the district will make them available to students as well.
If students are in violation of this policy, the building principal will consult with the parent or guardian to determine whether an exception is appropriate, or whether the student should be placed in remote learning until the mask mandate can be fulfilled.
