Study: Milton is Among Most Irish Towns in Massachusetts

If St. Patrick’s Day seemed a little more festive in Milton than in other places around Massachusetts, that might be due to the fact that the town is one of the most Irish in the state.

According to a study by NerdWallet.com using U.S. Census Bureau data, Milton has the fifth highest percentage of residents with Irish heritage with 39.7 percent.

The South Shore was well represented on the list, with Weymouth (42.9 percent), Braintree (42.4 percent), Abington (42.4 percent), and Hull (41.4 percent) making the top 10.
