Teamsters Deny Harassing Cast of Reality TV Show Filmed in Milton

Police are now investigating allegations of harassment while Top Chef filmed in Milton.

A representative for Teamsters Local 25 have denied accusation of local teamsters yelling homophobic and racist slurs at cast members of a reality TV show in June.

“As far as we’re concerned, it didn’t happen,” said Melissa Hurley, a spokeswoman for Teamsters Local 25 told the Boston Globe.

According to Deadline.com, the teamsters allegedly yelled the slurs at cast members members of the show Top Chef while they were outside the Steel & Rye restaurant on Eliot Street.

The website’s report claims the teamsters were upset that the show hired non-union workers while they filmed around Boston.

A source close to Bravo, the network Top Chef airs on, confirmed the incident to the Globe and added that the Teamsters allegedly slashed the tires of some cars parked outside the restaurant.

Milton police declined to comment, stating that there is an investigation ongoing. Steel & Rye owner Dan Kerrigan also declined to comment.
