Town Of Milton Granite Avenue Bridge Work To Start On March 7

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has informed the Town that work on the Granite Avenue bascule bridge will commence on Sunday, March 7th and run through Friday, April 30th.

The structural steel repairs, cleaning and painting operations are scheduled to take place during daytime and nighttime hours.

Traffic impacts to support this work are as follows:

- From 3/7/21 – 4/17/21, occurring 7 days per week:

• Between the hours of 8:00 AM through 4:00 PM – Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in the northbound and southbound directions on Granite Ave.
• Between the hours of 7:00pm – 5:00am – There will be alternating closures of the northbound and southbound travel lanes on Granite Ave. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in the northbound and southbound traffic on Granite Ave.

* Certain nighttime operations will generate noise. During this specific time, between 3/21/21 – 3/31/21, the Contractor will be implementing noise mitigation measures during the overnight hours to reduce the noise emissions from the painting equipment. *
