Two Milton Students To Be Honored by JFK Library

Two Pierce Middle School students have recently been chosen to receive the John F. Kennedy Make A Difference Award. 

Caitlin Donahoe and Teresa McDonald, both seventh-graders, organized a teddy bear drive for children at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton. After collecting dozens of bears, the girls went to the school to deliver them and work with some of the young patients and work with them on social skills.

Pierce Guidance Counselor Erin MacCurtain helped to nominate the girls, who will be honored on April 9 at 4 pm in a ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Library.

The Kennedy Library recognizes up to 100 middle school students each year from across the Commonwealth with the John F. Kennedy Make a Difference Award for students who have had an impact on their communities through public service.

The award is given to students who are nominated by teachers, principals and other community leaders for contributions they have made to their neighborhood, town or community.
