Duo Amie Cello/Piano Concert to Benefit Gateway Arts In Brookline

CHESTNUT HILL, MA – Duo Amie, a Boston area based cello/piano duo founded by Julie Reimann and Ellyses Kuan, will perform their latest chamber music concert, Melodic Canvases, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 3 2018 at Longyear Museum, located at 1125 Boylston St. in Chestnut Hill.

The concert benefits Gateway Arts, a Vinfen service, that provides professional development for adults with disabilities who have talent in fine art and hand crafts. Established in 1973, Gateway Arts is an internationally acclaimed studio art center dedicated to providing individualized, arts-based services to adults with disabilities, and supporting meaningful lives and careers in art.

Musical compositions inspired by visual works of art are the theme of this performance. The program features Mussorgsky’s well-known Pictures at an Exhibition (arranged for cello and piano by Charles Schiff), Stephen Paulus’s Art Suite, Malinconia by Sibelius, and Granados’s Intermezzo from Goyescas... each composition in turn inspired by an artist’s hand. 100% of concert proceeds will benefit Gateway Arts.

Tickets and Details
The concert will begin promptly at 1:30 pm, and a reception with ice cream provided by Rancatore's Ice Cream and Yogurt will follow at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, and are available at the door. Donations and advance ticket purchases also can be made online at melodic-canvases.eventbrite.com.
