Central Catholic Staff Suspended Due Alleged Misconduct Identified

Two staff members suspended for alleged misconduct.

LAWRENCE, MA -- The.Central Catholic High School Dean of Students has been suspended for posting compromising photos of himself on .an adult website, the Eagle-Tribune reports,

Meanwhile, a social studies teacher at the private school has also been suspended after he allegedly sent inappropriate messages to a former student, the Eagle- Tribune reports.

Dean of Students and basketball coach Richard Nault and social studies teacher John Housianitis were placed on leave this week pending the outcome of investigations into the meeting misconduct allegation, Eagle- Tribune reports..

Housianitis is accused of posted compromising photos of himself on an adults-only, password-protected website, according to a letter sent to the Central Catholic school community by Central Catholic"s president Christopher Sullivan..

Nault last month reportedly sent inappropriate messages through a social media site to a former student who had graduated in 2016, according to Sullivan's letter.

Screen shots of the messages had been circulated among the Central community, he said.

Nault and Housianitis are suspended while there is an investigation into these allegations.

Sullivan has not publicly identified the two staff members, but people within the school community have identified the two staff members, the Eagle-Tribune reports.

Allegations involving Nault and Housianitis arose in the wake of the firing of Andrew Nikonchuk, the former director of curriculum and instruction at the school.

Nikonchuk, 36, of Lowell is under investigation for the drugging and rape of a student in 2006.

Housianitis is accused of posted compromising photos of himself on an adults-only, password-protected website, according to Sullivan's letter.

Nault last month reportedly sent inappropriate messages through a social media site to a former student who had graduated in 2016, Sullivan said in the letter.

Screen shots of the messages had been circulated among the Central community, he said.

Sullivan noted in the letter that no students were physically harmed.

"Both individuals involved will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of our investigation," Sullivan said.

"We will communicate the nature of our findings and the status of each individual’s employment once that process is complete," Sullivan wrote.
