Spicket River Brewery To Host Neighbors In Need Diaper Drive
The Lawrence-based group distributes up to 8000 diapers, 400 packages of wipes and 50 cans of formula each month.
LAWRENCE, MA — Neighbors In Need is hosting a diaper drive at Lawrence's Spicket River Brewery July 17, the organization said.
The group hopes to collect 8,000 diapers, 400 packages of wipes and 50 cans of formula at the diaper drive — roughly their monthly distribution total.
The event will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 17 at the brewery, 56 Island Street in Lawrence.

The organization particularly needs diaper sizes 4, 5 and 6, they said. They're also looking for rash creams.
"1 in 3 families experience diaper need, or are unable to purchase enough diapers to keep a child clean, dry and healthy," Neighbors In Need Deputy Director Lisa Smith said. "Here in the Greater Lawrence area the need is no different."

Prices are currently rising for diapers, Smith noted.
"Neighbors In Need operates an open-to-the-public diaper pantry where families can go if they are in need of diapers," she said. "We help up to 500 children each month."
In March, the organization began making deliveries for coronavirus safety reasons; thanks to a team of volunteers, they're still delivering.
"This month, we are moving into a new space to store and distribute diapers at 60 Island Street in Lawrence and the Spicket River Brewery is right outside of our door," Smith said. " The Spicket River Brewery is a great local company that cares a lot about the community – and they were excited about helping us raise awareness about diaper need and helping us fill the shelves in our new space."
