Free Intro to Square Dancing and Pizza Party at Riverside Squares
Riverside Squares Is Throwing a Free Party Offering an Introduction to Modern Square Dancing and Pizza

Who hasn't heard of square dancing? It usually conjures up thoughts of Western music and clothing with a hoe down theme, but modern square dancing is surprisingly different from that. A great family activity, where no partner is needed, modern square dancing can be enjoyed by anyone who can walk briskly. It's great mental and physical exercise as well as fun and social. It helps to improve listening skills while generating smiles and laughter along the way. Dancing is accompanied by a variety of music—anything with with a good beat—and dancers wear any type of comfortable clothing.
Danvers has been home to Riverside Squares Dance Club for over 50 years and has changed with the times. On Saturday, September 7, they are offering a free 1-hour mini-introduction to modern square dancing along with free pizza! Immediately following the mini-intro the club will hold its regular monthly dance, and new folks are invited to stay to watch and learn more about the fun of square dancing. It all takes place at 7:00 pm at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 13 Holten St. in Danvers.
Another free opportunity to be introduced to modern square dancing is on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the same location. This evening is devoted to beginners who want to see what square dancing is all about--you will learn to dance while enjoying tasty food offered by the club! Club members will help new people learn the moves. Come to both events or just one (no registration necessary for either) to find out if you want to take the class and join in the fun.
