Merrimack College Jumping To NCAA Division I in 2023-24
Twenty-two Merrimack college teams will join men's and women's hockey, which already play in Division I.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- Merrimack College will beginning competing in NCAA Division I beginning in the 2023-24 season. The move comes after the college in North Andover and Andover accepted an invitation to join the Northeastern Conference. While the men's and women's hockey teams already compete in Division I, the the school's 22 other athletic teams will make the jump from Division II.
"We are pleased that our record of achievement and growth has resulted in this invitation to compete in the NEC and partner with its outstanding member institutions," President Christopher E. Hopey told the Eagle-Tribune, which first reported this story.
