NAHS Music Students Selected for State and National Ensembles

North Andover High School students successfully audition for MMEA and NAfME ensembles.

Several North Andover High School music students submitted auditions for this year’s Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) Eastern District Senior Festival. Owen Ferguson ’21, bass; Corey Freedman ’21, tenor; and Courtney Igbinosa ’22, alto, were accepted into the Senior District Choir, and Caleb Ginsburg '22, violin, was accepted into the Orchestra.

Having earned recommendations to further audition, Ginsburg, Ferguson, and Igbinosa have recently been selected to participate in the MMEA All-State Conference to be held in early March. The students will take part in a virtual masterclass with an ensemble conductor and will produce a virtual ensemble piece to be released in the spring.

In addition, Owen Ferguson and fellow NAHS Choir member, Henry Wright, ‘23, were named to the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-Eastern Choir as members of the bass section. Ferguson and Wright will participate in a weekend of workshops and clinics at the end of April.
