Elder Services seeks volunteers, Bingo for Veterans and NA Garden Club scholarship.

NORTH ANDOVER CLUB NEWS:

Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, a local nonprofit, is looking for committed individuals to volunteer their time and talent to support older folks in a variety of ways. Elder Services offers nine programs to choose from. Volunteers may give as little as an hour each week as a Friend in Deed or more as a Medical Advocate. Most programs require training, a CORI and provide ongoing support. Bingo for Veterans, is held on the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed St., Haverhill. All veterans are invited to play Bingo. Cards are free and prizes are awarded for each game. This veterans-only program is sponsored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and VNOC. Veterans who are not enrolled with VNOC services are asked to bring identification of veteran status. Call 978-372-3626 for more information.

The North Andover Garden Club, announces a new scholarship. The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a North Andover High School senior who plans to major in botany, landscape design, horticulture and the like. Applications and recommendations must be submitted by March 31. The winner will be notified by May 1. More information and application forms may be obtained online at northandovergardenclub.com or through the North Andover High School Guidance Department.
