North Andover Fire Extinguishes Holt Road Recycling Center Blaze

The same facility went up in flames in 2019.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover firefighters put out a fire at the 210 Holt Road recycling processing facility Friday afternoon, the department confirmed.

Lieutenant Matthew Lacolla confirmed Friday afternoon that the bulk of the fire had been extinguished and firefighters were overhauling the site. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.

Firefighters responded to the facility around 9:45 a.m. Friday and put out the bulk of the fire by 2 p.m., although they were still soaking debris to put out hot spots as of 4:30 p.m, Lacolla said.

The same 210 Holt Road facility, TBI Recycling, went up in flames in 2019. North Andover had to temporarily suspend recycling drop-off after that fire.

No injuries were reported, Lacolla said.

The fire was contained to the rear-right side of the building, although there was smoke throughout the whole building. No damage estimate was available.

The state fire marshall, state police and North Andover fire investigators were investigating the cause, Friday afternoon.

Methuen, Andover and Lawrence firefighters provided mutual aid on the scene while Haverhill and Middleton provided station coverage.
