North Andover High Plans 'Senior Days' With Limited Attendance

Each senior athlete will be able to bring two parents or caregivers for a designated senior day or night game.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Parents will be able to see their North Andover High School senior kids play in person at designated Senior Days and Nights this year, Principal Chet Jackson said Thursday.

North Andover's COVID Task Force approved the idea of having designated games for senior parents to attend.

Up to two parents/caregivers will be allowed to attend for each senior athlete at the designated contests, Jackson said in a letter to parents.

"The schools in the [Merrimack Valley Conference] are on board with each school working with their administrations, public health advisors and venues to safely make this one time event happen for our student athletes and their parents/caregivers, provided that the venues permit a limited number of spectators," Jackson said.

Athletic Director Laura Habacker will coordinate senior games with teams and venues and communicate with coaches directly.

"Please know that this event may not happen in the last week of the season as we want to ensure that the celebration happens safely without a final cancellation of a contest getting in the way of the event," Jackson said. "We will have to work with host facilities that are not located on our school property."
