North Andover Restaurants Eligible To Expand Outdoor Seating

Outdoor dining at restaurants began Monday in Massachusetts as part of the second phase of the state's coronavirus reopening.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover restaurants are now eligible to reopen for outdoor dining, the town said Monday. Applications are available for expanded outdoor seating areas.

Each restaurant will need express permission from the town to reopen. Outdoor dining began statewide Monday as part of the state's reopening.

"The Town supports the use of outdoor areas available to food service establishments, whether public or private, in order to increase functional capacity in the wake of the COVID-19 emergency shutdown," the town said.

The Board of Selectmen voted Monday to delegate to town officials authority over temporary expansion to outdoor dining and liquor licenses.

Available land to restaurants includes public sidewalks, streets and parking spaces, according to the guidelines and procedures.
