Obituary: John Michael DiNuccio, 52, Commercial Fisherman

Member of the Massachusetts Association of Fisheries.

John Michael DiNuccio, 52, of North Andover, died March 10, 2015 at his home. John was born on June 24, 1962 in Jamaica Plain, MA. He graduated from North Andover High School in 1980 and upon graduating went to Nova Scotia Canada where he built his own boat. His love of the ocean was what drew John to commercial fishing and becoming the captain of his own boats, the Kelpie and the Lisa Rose. As a concerned commercial fisherman, John was an active member of the Massachusetts Association of Fisheries always looking out for his industry and other local fishermen. Over the years, John has donated countless rare fish to the New England Aquarium that he came across while on a fishing expedition.

A loving family man, John is survived by his daughter; Alyssa M. DiNuccio of North Andover, Parents Frank and Honey (Cioffi) DiNuccio of North Andover, siblings Al DiNuccio and wife Theresa of Methuen, Frank DiNuccio Jr and wife Lynn of North Andover, and Ellen McIntyre and husband Glenn of North Andover. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a grandnephew.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 10 AM at St. Michael Church in North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery also in North Andover. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Program,P.O.
