Obituary: Joseph R. Vernile, Master Gas and Pipe Fitter for Bay State Gas For More Than 30 Years
Was known for his gift of gab.

Joseph R. Vernile, 85 of North Andover died unexpectedly on Monday at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born in North Andover on June 3,1929 to the late Joseph E. and Maria(Fuoco) Vernile. He was educated in local schools and worked as a master gas and pipe fitter for Bay State Gas for more than thirty years.

Joseph enjoyed long rides to the beach and mountains with his wife, he also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and all types of travel. He was known as a collector of sorts.
The widower of the late Ruth (Banks) Vernile with whom he shared 66 years of marriage, Joseph is survived by his daughter, Debby (Vernile) Bean and her husband Robert S. Bean of Pelham N.H. and his son Robert J. Vernile and his wife Brooke of Sun City Arizona. He is also survived by his three sisters, Bridget Dennis of Ward Hill, Violet “Pat” Kondrat of North Andover and Gilda Ferris also of North Andover. Joseph is also survived by his granddaughters Jennifer H. Bean and Wendy R. Bean as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joe was known for his gift of gab and of his stories. One that was told many times was the day he was born, it was a bright and sunny day; how fitting it was that the day of his passing it was the first bright and sunny day after such a harsh winter.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 18 at 10 AM at the Conte Funeral Home 17 Third Street North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery.
