Obituary: Nancy White, 53; Passionate Environmentalist

She enjoyed bringing people together to experience her outdoor lifestyle - including boating, water skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Nancy White, 53, of North Andover, Massachusetts left her loved ones on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was born in Methuen, MA the daughter of Jeanne DuBois LaTulippe and the late Clement P. LaTulippe. She graduated from Methuen High School in 1979 and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell with a degree in Environmental Science in 1993.

Nancy lived her passion through her work at the Department of Environmental Protection for the State of Massachusetts for the last 18 years. Nancy started her career as an Environmental Analyst in the Bureau of Wastesite Clean up, overseeing remediation of some of the most contaminated sites in northern Massachusetts. In 2005, Nancy took a position in the Department’s Wetland Program working on protection of wetland resource areas through the review and issuance of Superseding Orders of Conditions and Water Quality Certificates.

Nancy was married to Walter W. White on June 16, 1984, with whom she shared her love for 30 years. She enjoyed spending her summers at Lake Cobbosseecontee in Maine, where she opened the lakeside home that she shared with her husband to friends and family. She enjoyed bringing people together to experience her outdoor lifestyle including boating, water skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Nancy was an active member of the Winner’s Circle Running Club in Salisbury, completing three full marathons, many half marathons and other road races. When not running, Nancy enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing, biking, landscaping and staying active. Nancy had an appreciation for classic boats and muscle cars; she treasured her 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Walter of North Andover and her mother, Jeanne LaTulippe of Salem, NH; her father in-law Walter III, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her father, Clement P. LaTulippe and her mother-in-law, Donna Danahy White.

Her husband has requested that memorial contributions be made in her name to the National Audubon Society (www.audubon.org) or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
