Obituary: Robert H. Bradley, Former Director of Food Services at Merrimack College

Robert H. Bradley, 89, of Methuen, formerly of Peabody, Mass. and Gilford, N.H., passed away on May 14, 2015 in his home. He was the loving husband of the late Joanne F. (Nangle) Bradley.
Born in Peabody, MA on November 17, 1925, he was the son of the late John F. Bradley, M.D. and Anna (Haskins) Bradley. A graduate of St. Johns Prep and Boston College, Robert (Bob) spent most of his career as the Director of Food Services at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.

He was an active leader of the community, serving as the Charter President of the Peabody Junior Chamber of Commerce; Co-founder of Merrimack College Federal Credit Union; President of the Boston Branch of the International Food Service Executive Association; a member of the Board of Directors of the Peabody YMCA, A Lord of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem; and President of the Laconia, NH St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was also a Member of the Peabody Personnel Board, the Lions Club and Rotary International Mass. and Laconia, NH.
Robert was a proud United States Navy veteran of World War II.

Robert is survived by his children and their spouses, John Bradley II and his wife Shirley-Ann of Andover, Christine Wilson and her husband Richard of Tampa, FL, and Susan Bove and her husband Michael of Reading, his grandchildren, Robert H. Bradley II and James Bradley; Peter Wilson and Kelley Roland; Nikki Bove and Celina Bove; two great-grandchildren, Vida Marie and Damien Wilson; his sister Jean Mooney, PhD., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Warren Bradley, M.D. and Barbara Gallagher.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM on Friday, May 22, 2015 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial with military honors will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Robert’s name to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA, 01843, or the American Diabetes Assoc., PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312.
