Obituary: Sheila Landers; Mother of Six Children, Co-Owned Landers Electrical Co.
Longtime parishioner of St. Michael Parish in North Andover. Helped with the campaign to build the new St. Michael School on Maple Avenue.

Sheila Landers -- Thoughtful and generous to the very end, Sheila passed away Sunday evening surrounded by family members at The Meadows Health Center. A native Lawrencian, Sheila attended St. Rita Parochial School and St. Mary High School, from which she graduated in 1950.
After completing a secretarial course at Boston’s The Wyndham School, Sheila married her longtime sweetheart, Vincent (“Vinny”), and began assisting the U.S. Army as it furnished supplies for the Korean War. In 1954, she and Vincent built their first home together in North Andover, where they raised their family.

The loving and devoted mother of six children, Sheila was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael Parish in North Andover and of St. Patrick Parish in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. A devoted advocate of education, she volunteered with the church and its school, helping with the campaign to build the original New St. Michael School on Maple Avenue, and together with Vincent, working in the Pre-Cana program. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (Division 8) and Bon Secours Women’s Auxiliary. She and her husband founded Landers Electrical Co., Inc. in 1959, where she worked until its closure in 2007.
Sheila and her husband traveled extensively during their lives, including a visit to her family in Mallow, County Cork, Ireland. Sheila and Vincent wintered at The Horizon Condominiums in Juno Beach, Fla., from 1986 onwards.
Beloved Sheila leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Vincent; children, Vincent Jr. (“Buddy”) and his wife, Diana, of North Andover, Shauna and her husband, James O’Leary of Milton, Mass., Terry, Maureen, Mary Sue and her husband, Tom Howlett, Patricia (“Patti”) and her husband, Scott Massey, all of North Andover. She leaves behind 19 grandchildren, their spouses; and eight great-grandchildren.

Sheila’s family would like to thank the staff of The Meadows Health Center for their kind and attentive care in her last months.
The family will hold calling hours Wednesday, March 25, at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover, from 4 to 8 p.m., and a funeral service at St. Michael Parish, 196 Main St., on Thursday, March 26, at 11:30 a.m.
Donations may be made to St. Michael Parish in her honor or to the charity of one’s choice.
