Obituary: William J. Brennan, Sr., Longtime Employee at Raytheon Co.

Avid trout fisherman; enjoyed hiking and camping in the White Mountains, N.H.

William J. Brennan, Sr., 83, a longtime resident of North Andover, died on March 28 in his home. Born in Methuen, he was the son of the late Mildred (Lowell) and William Brennan.

William served in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and later was a long-time employee of Raytheon Co. in Andover Mass. He was an avid trout fisherman and enjoyed hiking and camping in the White Mountains of NH, instilling a similar love of the outdoors to his 6 children. Women wanted him, Fish feared him!

He is predeceased by his eldest son, Daniel Brennan of North Andover. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Gagnon) and son Richard Brennan and his wife Virginia of Haverhill; son Thomas Brennan and his wife Donna of North Andover; daughter Kathleen Giard and her husband Daniel of North Andover; son William Brennan of Melbourne , Australia; son John Brennan and his wife Rebecca of North Andover. He has 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Brennan and Marilyn Donohue, and brothers James and John Sheehy.
