Retired North Andover Officer's Funeral Arrangements Announced
After a long battle with cancer, retired Lt. John Michael "Mike" Davis passed​ away peacefully at his home Tuesday.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA—A former police officer loved by many in the community will be laid to rest Tuesday. Following a long battle with cancer, retired Lieutenant John Michael "Mike" Davis passed away peacefully at his home earlier this week. After his discharge from the military, Davis spent 30 years as an officer with the North Andover Police Department.
"Lt. Davis was a mentor to all of us who had the privilege of working for him," the police department wrote on its Facebook page one day after his passing. "Lt. Davis will be missed by all. R.I.P. Lt. Davis, we have the watch from here."
According to his obituary, Davis was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1078 and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2104.

"Mike was a proud Patriot who enjoyed golfing, reading, playing cards, rock and roll, dancing, fishing and tending to his pool," his obituary reads. "Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and making those around him laugh."
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Ridgewood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 12 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
