Snow In North Andover: What You Need To Know

NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- While we didn't get nearly as much snow as originally predicted, early rain on Sunday and a drastic drop in temperature in the afternoon is going to lead to treacherous conditions. As a result, the list of cancellations is growing by the hour.

Cancellations:

• The Andover/North Andover YMCA had a delayed opening until 9 am Sunday. All programs at Andover/North Andover, Lawrence and Methuen YMCAs are canceled. This includes YBL, group exercise classes and Child Watch.
• The Stevens Memorial Library will not open on Sunday.

North Andover does not typically declare snow emergencies, as it bans on-street parking between the hours of midnight and 6 am between November 1 and April 1 and at any time when snow or icy conditions are present to make sure it can clear snow from roadways. Vehicles that violate the winter parking ban will be ticketed and towed by the Police Department at the owner's expense.
