Alcohol Compliance Checks Ahead For Norton Bars, Liquor Stores
The Norton Police Department received a grant to fund the enforcement of underage drinking laws.

NORTON, MA – The Norton Police Department will conduct compliance checks of alcohol-licensed establishments as part of a grant awarded by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security to fund underage drinking enforcement.
Bars, restaurants and liquor stores will be subjected to checks. Police departments perform compliance checks to ensure that establishments obey the laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol, especially with regard to underage drinking.
Specifically, officers will ensure customers are asked for, and present, valid identification. Below are acceptable forms of ID, according to the Norton Police Department:

- Massachusetts Driver’s License
- Massachusetts Liquor Identification Card
- Massachusetts Identification Card
- Passport Issued by the United States or a government that is officially recognized by the United States
- Passport Card for a Passport issued by the United States
- Military Identification Card.
