Timilty is the chairman of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and has been an advocate at the State House for the American Red Cross. When American Red Cross responders serve at small house fires in his district, in addition to region-wide responses such as blizzards and hurricanes, he has been a reliable ally to our volunteers.

“Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization,” said Jarrett Barrios, CEO of the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts. “Ninety-five percent of our work hours providing disaster relief, emergency food and lifesaving skills are performed by volunteers. These awardees represent the best of those who carry out our mission to alleviate suffering.”
