Bog Iron Brewery in Norton Looking to Expand

Local beer brewers looking for more space.

The Norton-based Bog Iron Brewery is looking to expand its operation on West Main Street.

Co owner Matt Menard said he and his partners Frank White and Brian Shurtleff are getting ready to sign a lease from the adjoining space at their location at the plaza on 33 West Main St.

“Signing the lease this week will double capacity with minimal equipment upgrades,” Menard said.

The three brewers started the business only a few months ago, and have already made an impact on the area. They currently have two permanent taps at Trinity in Norton and one permanent tap at Kinsale at Faneuil Hall in Boston.

“Alberto’s approached us about putting our beer on tap,” Menard said. “Jake and Joe’s reached out to us as well, but we’ve had to turn them all down because we just don’t have the capacity.”

He added he’s not complaining.

“It’s a really nice problem to have,” he said. “We’re lucky in the sense we haven’t had to put a huge amount of money up front for the business.”
