Local Agency is sponsoring Emergency Training

You are the Help until Help Arrives!

Would you know what to do if you came upon a car wreck and people were injured? Or, you are walking down the street and an elderly lady trips and falls? If you don’t, you are not alone. Many citizens don’t help because they are afraid, don’t know what to door feel inadequate to deal with the situation. National statistics prove that people injured in accidents or that suffered a life threatening event, have a much better chance of survival if they are attended to by passers by until the Professional First Responders arrive.

This is the basis for a new FEMA course that is being offered. “You Are The Help Until Help Arrives” is a one evening course that covers the basics of how to act, what to say and what to do if you come upon an incident. The course is being presented locally by Attleboro Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The next session will be sponsored by Norton Emergency Management Agency on Thursday January 25th at the Norton Public Library 68 East Main St. Norton. The class will run from 6:30PM until 9:30PM and is free to attend. All class materials will be provided. You will only need a pad and pen to take notes. Due to limited seating, preregistration is required.
