MA Teacher Fired After Fabricating Military Service
Andrew Gaboury was fired after a local network discovered he lied about serving in the Army and receiving two Purple Hearts.

TAUNTON, MA – A Massachusetts high school teacher was fired after officials learned he fabricated his military service, according to a Boston 25 report. The network dug into 36-year-old Andrew Gaboury's claims that he served in the Army and received two Purple Hearts and found no record of his service with the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.
In an email to Boston 25 Thursday, Gaboury said he "made up" his time in the military and fell deeper into the lie, adding more details over the years. He was hired to teach history at Coyle and Cassidy High School in Taunton four years ago.
The school said in a statement to Boston 25 that Gaboury was fired Thursday, March 1 after administrators learned he misrepresented his service on his job application. Coyle and Cassidy was closed Friday due to the storm; a representative could not immediately be reached for comment.
