New Children's Book Helps Kids Express Their Feelings

Trouble the Dog children's book series has introduced a new book with characters illustrated by Norton resident Jennifer Farley

Larkin Ltd. President Sheila Duncan, co-creator of the popular Trouble the Dog® plush toy and children’s book series, has introduced a third book, Trouble’s in Trouble! which brings to life a new character named Clarence. Trouble and Clarence help children to learn about the bumps in the road of life - gently and with humor. The Clarence character was introduced to help kids share how they’re feeling – an important vehicle for children in these challenging times.

Described by Duncan as “A tiny, hilarious Orb with an edge”, Clarence is a spark of light small enough to land on Trouble’s nose. He magically appears when Trouble is lost or “in Trouble.” Clarence was created by Sheila Duncan and her niece Kendra, who are the original creators of the popular Trouble the Dog character.

“Clarence was created as a reflection of Trouble’s emotions,” notes Duncan. “He is Trouble’s moral compass, if you will, with a message to convey to kids that it’s okay to make mistakes, and it’s important to be able to talk about your feelings when you do.”
