NORTON, MA — The demolition of the Reed & Barton buildings along Cross Street will begin Monday at 7:30 a.m. Cross Street will be closed from the dam to Elm Street from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
The road will be open to a single lane at night.
Town residents in October approved $522,000 for the demolition and removal of the two buildings after Norton town officials said they were repeatedly the site of trespassing and vandalism. The buildings fell under town control after Reed & Barton declared bankruptcy.
