Norton Detours For Sewer Project Start Thursday

Detours for Phase 2 of the town's sewer project on East Main Street will begin Jan. 2.

NORTON, MA —A new year brings new travel restrictions in Norton. The beginning of Phase 2 of the town's sewer project will bring detours to East Main Street starting Thursday.

Work will begin at 7 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. Drivers are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.

The detour begins on East Main Street at the Washington Street intersection through 193 East Main Street. All traffic eastbound on East Main Street will be detoured on to Washington Street. there will be a left turn detour at the Plain Street intersection from Plain Street, onto Burt Street and back on to East Main Street.

Eastbound Norton schools, fire, police and EMS vehicles will have access to past the work zone. Details will stop westbound traffic until those vehicles pass, as needed.
